Edward Jones is seeking a Solution Architect to lead our Financial Planning technology initiatives for our Canadian business unit. The position will support the design, development & integration of the Conquest Planning SaaS solution with multiple technology platforms that comprise our Canadian-specific suite of digital products. Those products are used by over 600 Canadian branch teams to serve their clients and manage their practice. This position will support our strategic initiatives for Edward Jones Canada, serving as a technology thought leader and ensuring teams follow solution architecture best practices and build to scale and efficiencies that enable future business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Serves the primary technical leaders for the Canadian Business Unit. Undertakes the most complex IT projects involving multiple disciplines or layers, some of which impact multiple business units and our 600+ branches
- Drive technology standards, patterns, and blueprints
- Correlate non-functional requirements to technology patterns that ensure SLAs are met
- Contribute to and influence the Canada Technology roadmap based on the Firm roadmap and Canadian Business Unit strategy
- Research industry trends, innovate, and lead the assessment of new technologies
- Actively participate in Architecture Working Groups to ensure Architectural alignment and awareness
- Evaluate and recommend opportunities to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Canadian technology systems to ensure the highest levels of stability, observability, and resiliency
- Present ideas to Sr. level technical resources and leaders
- Actively monitors the competitive landscape for innovative solutions that may provide value to the Firm
- Collaborate with solution architects as well as product and engineering managers
- Lead our teams through product roadmap rationalization exercises as we incorporate new vendor-based technologies to ensure investment in legacy technology is at appropriate levels.
- Guide and mentor teams on architecture, design, and integration of business software across multiple product platforms while ensuring solutions are built with performance, scalability and resiliency in mind.
- Drive adaption of architectural patterns, design policies, code quality and performance across products

Hiring Minimum: $113,810
Hiring Maximum: $193,785
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- 7+ years of technology experience
- 5+ years of architectural experience
- Experience working on the Microsoft Azure platform or integrating cloud-based SaaS systems using API management platforms.
- Expert in multiple technology domains
- Enterprise-wide Architectural experience, participating in end-to-end solution design with both commercial and in-house developed software solutions
- Deep understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery
- Strong technical leadership, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Able to translate business ideas into technical strategies that align with our overall vision
- Awareness and understanding of guiding principles, architectural patterns, and roadmaps
- Ability to create artifacts, such as Business Cases, Complex Diagrams, and POC read-outs
- Comfortable presenting ideas to technical, non-technical, and leadership audiences
- Maintains awareness and knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends
- Conceptual understanding of business, security, and data architectures
- Understands the Financial impact of decisions and is able to articulate cost/benefit analysis
- Ability to influence all levels in a matrixed organization
- Establish and maintain effective relationships across departments, business areas, and vendors
- Embraces change and helps others adapt
- Strong mentoring skills, able to educate and upskill others
- Prior wealth management experience or other financial services experience preferred

*Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with a preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
