Position Overview:

Are you ready to lead technology teams that power the core of Freddie Mac’s housing market operations? The Cash Window Business Technology Office (BTO) delivers innovative, resilient, and scalable solutions that enable liquidity, stability, and affordability in the housing market. We are seeking a strategic Senior Technology Manager to drive cross-functional technology initiatives, foster a culture of excellence, and ensure our platforms meet evolving business needs.

Our Impact:

Our team delivers and supports mission-critical pricing, pooling, and trading applications for the Cash Desk and Single Family divisions. We collaborate across I&CM, Single Family Sourcing, Servicing, Securitization, and Enterprise Operations & Technology to ensure our technology solutions drive market liquidity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Your Impact:

  • Deliver Business Value: Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions that directly enable business growth, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance for the Cash Desk and Single Family partners.

  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Translate business objectives into actionable technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and regulatory mandates.

  • Foster Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, and technology teams to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver impactful solutions.

  • Ensure System Resiliency and Risk Mitigation: Oversee the design and implementation of robust, secure, and scalable systems that proactively address operational risks and ensure business continuity.

  • Optimize Performance: Continuously analyze system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that enhance application reliability and scalability.

  • Champion Agile Delivery: Guide teams in adopting Agile best practices, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of technology projects.

  • Mentor and Develop Talent: Build and nurture a high-performing team, providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities to foster technical and leadership excellence.

  • Support Production Operations: Oversee production support, ensuring rapid resolution of critical issues and seamless business operations.

  • Leverage Mortgage Industry Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of mortgage industry processes, particularly pooling and securitization, to design and deliver solutions that meet the unique needs of Freddie Mac’s business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive software development experience.

  • 2+ years of management experience, including leading Agile teams and cross-functional projects.

  • Hands on strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and modern development frameworks.

  • Advanced SQL and data analysis skills; experience with PostgreSQL preferred.

  • Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and AWS cloud services.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Experience in the mortgage industry, especially with pooling and securitization processes, is a significant plus.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $183,000 - $275,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
