Responsibilities

State Farm (Richardson, TX) seeks an Infrastructure Security Analyst to be responsible for technical lead and subject matter resource for designing and supporting border protection technologies such as next generation enterprise firewalls, remote access, wireless security, and cloud security while operating under the principles of Zero Trust. Specific duties include: develop, support and test end-to-end information security solutions, controls, tools, techniques leveraging existing or new capabilities, patterns, and/or processes to govern and protect State Farm assets; develop, document, and maintain information security infrastructure strategy and operational procedures, guidelines, and processes; apply infrastructure security concepts and practices in accordance with industry standards, security, risk management techniques, and governance/compliance requirements; evaluate vendor solutions and costs and coordinate on-going budget for the vendor capabilities; synthesize solution design, architectural patterns, policy and regulatory frameworks, privacy considerations, and risks in the creation of holistic security solutions that span technologies and capabilities; research emerging infrastructure security topics, threats, capabilities, and solution options; demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills; develop and support technologies pertaining to network security such as Next Generation Network and Cloud-based Firewalls, AWS automated deployments using Terraform, remote access technologies (VPN and SDP solutions), mobility security, cloud and datacenter architecture design, wireless security, anti-malware and advanced threat detection/intrusion prevention; and develop, design, and support information security solutions for Unix/Linux, Mainframe z/OS, Windows, and mobile, big data and cloud platforms. Must have or have had any 2 of the following security certifications: GSEC, CISSP, CISM, PCNSE, CCNP, CEH, or CCSP. Must be or have been AWS certified.


Qualifications

Position requires 3 or 4 year U.S. or foreign Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or similar position. Must have 5 years of experience with each of the following: designing, installing, supporting, and maintaining enterprise level Palo Alto network firewalls; designing, installing, supporting, and maintaining TCP/IP networks; generating and analyzing network traces through the use of tools including Tcpdump and Wireshark; working with AWS cloud and designing, implementing, and supporting security features at AWS including NACLs, Security Groups, and firewalls; developing, deploying, and managing continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline for infrastructure automation; developing and implementing code in Python and Terraform. Must have or have had any 2 of the following security certifications: GSEC, CISSP, CISM, PCNSE, CCNP, CEH, or CCSP. Must be or have been AWS certified.
