OVERVIEW:

The Senior Director or Enterprise Architecture and Governance focuses on ensuring that the IT organization "does the right things" through strategy and governance, as well as "doing things right" through organizational and operational model development and performance management. The position is also responsible for managing Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise level Service delivery and workforce strategy.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Partners with the CIO in providing technology vision and direction for the enterprise.
  • Works with the CIO and IT leadership team, providing broad insight to IT domains and capabilities in support of enterprise-wide business decisions.
  • Is responsible for driving focus and prioritization within the IT organization through establishing strategic planning and governance principles and processes.
  • Oversees the execution of high-impact, enterprise-wide, strategic programs, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Stays current with developments in new market trends and innovations in technology and the leadership of enterprise IT.
  • Establishes and implements continuous improvement programs for the IT organization.
  • Oversee IT workforce strategy development and management, including the sourcing, training, and development of staff.
  • May regularly review IT costs and cost structures for IT services and products so that the financial implications of IT projects and activities are communicated to the proper IT and business executives.
  • Leads the Enterprise Architecture Capability and serve as the primary architecture advisor to business and IT executives.
  • Proactively understands business priorities and support the definition and governance of the portfolio of technology projects to adhere to overall functional area architecture roadmaps.
  • Defines and governs architecture standards.
  • Collaborates with operational, application, data, infrastructure/cloud, security and solution architects to translate operational architectures across the enterprise.
  • Service Delivery Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for service delivery operations to meet organizational objectives and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor service quality standards, metrics, and KPIs to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services.

  • Expert in IT strategic planning, IT governance formulation, and organizational change management
  • Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs, including the ability to differentiate between a relevant trend and hype
  • Proven track record of innovation, both in internal problem solving and in fostering innovative uses of technology in the organization
  • Strong customer and user experience focus
  • Ability to adapt to a wide range of activities without losing focus in order to handle the diverse nature of tasks in the function effectively
  • Expertise in technology enablement and associated architecture frameworks for both product-centric and services business.
  • Strong appreciation and understanding of base architecture principles while converging new digital thinking and approaches.
  • Deep experience with architecture governance that integrates data, cyber and app dev domains.
  • Ability to steer the broader organization towards drafting and adhering to enterprise standards, driving standardization across platforms, tools, and software delivery standards.
  • Strong engineering acumen and experience across technology stack such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Magento, Software Licensing and contractual management tools and other enterprise-grade platforms.
  • Expertise setting strategic direction for the EA organization, incorporating federated structures; Deep understanding of EA tools and associated governance protocols and methodologies.
  • Own and drive the development of enterprise architecture standards, processes, and artifacts.

Education and Experience Required

  • First level university degree with a focus in Computer Science; advanced technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Typically 12+ years of experience in an IT function or exhibiting an exceptionally strong background in some other relevant and applicable area of business.
  • Typically 4+ years of people management experience.
  • Certifications such as TOGAF® Standard Foundation or Certified, or ITIL
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align security initiatives with business goals.
  • Strong leadership skills, including leadership development, coaching, team building, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and strategic management skills, including budget, business planning and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage human capital across multiple geographies and organizations to drive workforce development and achieve desired results, with DEI proof points.
  • Experience crafting and delivering executive presentations with ease and composure.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and convey technically complex solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrable growth mindset, thoughtful perspectives on new technologies
  • Balanced internal and external orientation
