The Opportunity

Our location in Sylmar, CA has an opportunity for an IT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP MANAGER.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The IT Business Relationship Manager will be responsible for working closely with Abbott Medical Devices Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Manufacturing, Distribution, Labeling and Analytics business partners and serve as the liaison between business partners and shared services delivery teams to ensure that business needs and requirements are being addressed across Plan, Build, and Run areas. Responsible for demand management, IT Capital and Expense financial projections, planning, and oversight of IT systems. Responsible for identifying technology solutions to meet evolving business needs with an excellent understanding of the application and technology lifecycle management. Candidate should be aware of the evolution of technologies and consider regulations relevant to the business area.

STRATEGIC THINKING

  • Building and maintaining expertise on the IT portfolio for CRM globally. Proactively analyze business processes; elicit, analyze, and document business requirements; identify alternative solutions, assesses feasibility, and make recommendations typically seeking to leverage new or existing IT technology components.
  • Champion change and innovation. Stimulate creativity, innovation and open to new ideas.
  • Constant awareness of corporate IT standards, technology trends, evolving regulatory requirements and their applicability to the business process and IT portfolio, and influence the IT stakeholders and partners in addressing them in the most efficient way.
  • Manage collaboration and partnership with Corporate IT Services including Plan/Build/Run teams.

BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Understand the business and ensure IT solutions meet the needs of the business.
  • Understand the specific challenges and opportunities linked to the regulatory, legal and economic situation across countries and business units.

CONSULTING

  • Consult senior leadership on IT systems lifecycle, tools and solutions.  Recommend solutions assuring alignment with organization direction, vision and priorities. Where needed, involve area or functional BRM and IT business consultants, as well as external expertise.
  • Develop, propose, and implement innovative solutions to improve business outcomes in support of business strategies.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Partner and collaborate with key IT staff and other Abbott divisions to support cross divisional business initiatives and explore IT synergies and efficiencies.

PROJECT AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Good understanding of project management process, best practices and documentation. Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

PEOPLE SKILLS

  • Responsible for maintaining healthy and conflict-free relationship between the business customer and the IT delivery teams. Responsible for creating and ensuring a productive, collaborative, and friendly team environment.

COMPLIANCE

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures. Operate with broad goals and objectives. Has direct impact on capital budget, expenses and project completion.

DECISION MAKING

  • Make strategic decisions that impact Business and IT. Shared decision authority for IT budget and project activities. Manage initiatives that span multiple virtual teams across the world and different cultures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU WILL BRING

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field of study relevant for working in technology. (Preferred Masters in STEM)
  • Project Management certified (e.g., Prince2, PMI/PMP) (preferred)
  • Preferred certificates - SAP certificates, Software validation / Life Cycle management (e.g., GAMP 5), IT Service Management certified (e.g., ITIL) and Cloud Foundations certified (e.g., AWS, Azure)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 8+ years international business experience (working for multi-national/Global) – 3 years in project management.
  • Strong experience in engaging with Manufacturing, Quality or R&D business environment and solid understanding of ERP, accounting/Finance or R&D systems, or planning/forecasting solutions.
  • Proven track record in IT-Business roles like functional application support, architecture, key user roles, project management, etc.
  • Experience with Manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP or MES, etc.)- high level knowledge.
  • Working experience in regulated environments like Healthcare/Pharma/MedTech, etc. Good overview of key processes in pharmaceutical industry.
  • IT compliance & governance experience.
  • Working experience in the application life cycle domain: requirements definitions with business, applications selection, deployment, support, upgrade, interfacing, and decommissioning.
  • Experience managing accounting / Finance and R&D process improvement.
  • Experience in developing and implementing applications in an FDA/GXP environment (e.g., SAP, ERP, CRM, QSM, Model N, etc.)
  • Experience managing teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams include ERP, preferably using Cloud, and Analytics.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven track record in Supply Chain, Consulting, Project Management.
  • Pharma/Medical Device commercial, development, and manufacturing business process knowledge, as related to IT.
  • Strong organizational skills including program/project governance.
  • Experience with Data Management – data gathering / data harmonization / data models / reporting / analytics.
  • Experience with visualizing data in PowerBI / Tableau
  • Experience with analyzing data in Databricks / Python
  • Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, and networking skills
  • Strong influence and negotiating skills.

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
