What You’ll Be Doing:
As the Lead Data Architect, you will combine data, cloud, and software engineering expertise to lead the delivery of data generation, computation, and analysis solutions for R&D. You will design data architecture and governance. Additionally, you will guide a team of engineers in data integration, modeling, coding and workflow optimization to drive efficiency and innovation.
How You’ll Succeed:
- Develop AI-ready data products that support advanced analytics and external partnerships.
- Design standardized data models and data frameworks used by R&D functions.
- Facilitate data governance discussions and define data standards with multi-functional teams and data products owners.
- Architect, implement and maintain the data solutions, focusing on scalability, performance, and compliance.
- Improve system performance and data quality, with an emphasis on scalability for AI and ML applications.
- Evaluate emerging data technologies.
What You Should Bring:
- Deep expertise in data architecture framework, including security, reference data, metadata, usability, and stability.
- Experienced in research and clinical data management, data and application lifecycle management, data operation, and the specific data requirements of drug discovery.
- Expert knowledge of data generation and collection, computation and analysis in biopharmaceutical R&D, including data architecture, data governance, data integration, data modeling, data science/AI/ML, workflow optimization.
- Superb communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams in a matrix organization.
Your Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computational, engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of information management technical leadership experience in high-tech, life sciences, or AI/ML-focused industries.
- 3+ years of experience in delivering cloud data solutions and in scaling large data workflows across distributed environments.
Additional Information:
- Position requires work schedule flexibility, availability outside of regular business hours as needed to support business critical activities.
- Travel Percentage: 20%
