OVERVIEW:

The VP of Infrastructure and End User Services will report into the CIO of HP, Inc. and will provide the progressive leadership and vision needed to support HP’s technologies that flawlessly serve our customers daily. The leadership provided by the successful candidate will create industry-leading infrastructure and services that enable our businesses, customers, and employees to develop, produce and sell world-class products and solutions.

Strategic senior IT leader with end-to-end responsibility for the strategy, planning, and delivery of IT Infrastructure and Operations services.  Accountable for delivering on HP Inc’s strategic IT objectives to transform IT Infrastructure and Operations. Partner with Product leaders to develop and pilot innovative HP Inc products and solutions. Intense focus on Infrastructure performance and cost effectiveness. 

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Work closely with engineering, product management and the customer service organizations to successfully deploy world- class solutions in our IT environment.
  • Must be a deep technologist with proven track record of building large scalable networks, datacenters, and end user computing services.
  • Be a creative thinker and analytical person that is extremely comfortable with engineering standards.

The ideal candidate will possess a balance of business and financial acumen, be technically competent, collaborative, hands-on self-starter with strong communication, leadership, and organizational development skills. S/he must be able to collaborate with multiple teams simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, global, dynamic environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Deliver on HP Inc’s strategic objectives to transform IT Infrastructure and Operations into an innovative, agile, and lean organization providing data center, cloud engineering, and operations as well as end user computing services.
  • Build and manage a team of top tier infrastructure leaders and lead a globally dispersed infrastructure organization.
  • Industrialize “IT as a business” operating model, tools, and processes.
  • Manage IT infrastructure and Operations budget (capital and expense), and ensure dependable, secure, and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure services.
  • Shape and deliver next generation infrastructure services in partnership with leading enterprise technology and managed services vendors.
  • Enable HP Inc workforce and partners productivity by designing and delivering innovative workplace end user technologies and connectivity.
  • Partner with Product leaders to develop and implement innovative HP Inc solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Planning and implementation leadership, identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement.
  • Provides infrastructure services vision, enables innovation, and seeks to leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the company's requirements and expectations.
  • Partners with IT Leadership team to lead and deliver the technology infrastructure operations and execution for the enterprise, supporting a highly scalable and redundant environment.
  • Key interfaces include: 
  • CIO- This leader will engage daily with the CIO, CIO staff, and business partners across HP.
  • Chief Information Security Officer – partner to ensure secure infrastructure design and operations, across data centers, cloud, and end users.
  • Product Executive leadership/GMs – partner to support development and adoption of innovative HP Inc solutions (“HP on HP”).
  • Digital & Transformation Office staff –regular communications to ensure alignment of IT infrastructure and operations strategy and investments with business needs.
  • Develops the team and mentors’ talent to deliver the technology management and execution capabilities of the organization. Enable a constantly learning environment.
  • Work closely with multi-team technical resources, engineering managers, and other stakeholders to ensure systems function within SLA and that outages are dealt with rapidly and effectively.
  • Design and build or leverage partner tooling and technology to provide operational visibility into the performance and resiliency of systems and business processes.
  • Articulating the business benefits of your teams' initiatives to senior business stakeholders ensuring their total support and buy-in.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technology degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in a leadership role in IT Infrastructure Technology / Operations, with at least 5 years of senior management experience at the VP level or higher.
  • Proven track-record of building and motivating large high-performing teams in times of change in global matrix environments.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of technical experience in areas such as enterprise architecture, data center and cloud design and management, user-centered design, telecommunications, and IT support operations.
  • Evangelist of HP story with a passion for the customers and partners.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the technology landscape, with a history of predicting and planning for implementation of trending technologies to maximize investment.
  • Onshore/Offshore partner integration to deliver services with quality at competitive price points.
  • Proven track record of leading design delivery of large-scale, high-quality systems focused on infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in application development in large and complex IT organization.
  • Experience in systems software and/or project management.
  • Strong attention to details, analytical capability, and excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to effectively work with and influence others and act as a change leader.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively.
