  • This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
  • Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities for multiple projects utilizing Agile/Scrum methodologies.

What you'll do

  • Processes requisitions and invoices, ensuring correct coding within the procurement system for management approval
  • Tracks monthly renewals and periodic payments to ensure renewal deadlines and timely payments to vendors
  • Coordinate with finance for month-end close, accruals, reclasses, and monthly forecasts
  • Reviews monthly cloud and hosting charges, analyzes significant changes, validates against planned changes, and corrects of any errors
  • Designs and completes complex financial analyses for business cases or ad hoc leadership support
  • Oversees all financial aspects of multiple simultaneous fast-paced projects with product teams and leaders
  • Designs and maintains financial vision, project/product funding standards, and working agreements
  • Assists product leaders to develop project/product budget, release plan, funding request, communication plan, and risks and issues management
  • Assists product leaders to manage project/product scope, budget, presentations to IT/Business, and financial standup and retrospective sessions
  • Facilitates weekly product financial meetings; completes project/product financial tracking/analysis reports
  • Tracks, updates, and communicates project/product status in a proactive manner as it relates to budget/cost, resource utilization, and risks
  • Interfaces with product stakeholders at all levels of management to ensure project/product financial priorities are aligned with business needs and budget expectations
  • Ensures that appropriate project/product financial documentation and deliverables are clearly defined and delivered
  • Mentors and coaches product teams to ensure their adoption and successful use of American financial practices
  • Acts as a liaison between business units and 3rd party vendors
  • Uses business analysis techniques for gathering and documenting complex requirements, scoping, interviewing, facilitation, system component design, testing, and implementation

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience
  • 3 years of experience managing and delivering mission-critical, high-availability large and small IT development projects using structured project management and system development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 5 years of finance or accounting experience
  • 3 years of experience in Agile methods and mindset as an approach to software development
  • 5 years of progressive broad-based information systems and business experience
  • 5 years of experience managing and delivering mission-critical, high-availability large and small IT development projects using structured project management and system development methodologies, such as Agile/Scrum
  • Certified PMP (Project Management Professional) is a plus
  • Cybersecurity experience
  • Airline Industry experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Experience mentoring teams with strong focus on continuous improvement and developing self-organizing teams
  • Experience in a variety of computing platforms, such as mainframe, client/server, web, cloud, and social media
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Skills in leadership; team-focused with high energy and a positive attitude
  • Skills in analytics, estimating, and problem solving
  • Ability to think strategically and develop tactical methods to achieve objectives and goals
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, customers, and external groups, as well as working in a collaborative environment with geographically dispersed resources
