The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity plays a pivotal role in leading a team of security architects, guiding them in the evaluation of projects and applications to identify and address required security reviews for each. This position instrumental in ensuring that robust security controls are implemented effectively and, in a business-focused way to safeguard the systems, applications, and data of Cox Communications. The Sr. Manager, Cybersecurity collaborates with teams in Cybersecurity, Information Technology and across our company to establish and enforce security controls and ensure the requisite signoffs are in place prior to project approval and launch. This role requires a strategic mindset, an understanding of security architecture, risk management, and the ability to navigate complex project landscapes to uphold the standards of information security across the organization. The senior manager is also responsible for staying abreast of emerging threats and industry best practices to continually enhance the overall security posture of the organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of direct reports tasked with assigning risk-based security requirements to projects to meet information security requirements and ensure solutions are secure prior to launch.

  • Represent the information security team in key stakeholder meetings including Data Governance Working Group and the Launch Readiness Committee and provide formal approval to projects prior to launch.

  • Develop and provide risk management guidance to leaders across the organization in the development of risk mitigation strategies and plans.

  • Ensure the validation and maintenance of Cybersecurity policies, architectural standards, and related requirements are built into the project delivery lifecycle.

  • Promote security as a business enabler through effective partnership with teams from privacy, product, technology, and engineering teams.

  • Improve security operations by leading and delivering initiatives to automate the requirements tracking process.

  • Possess a strong aptitude for learning new technologies and passion for staying current with cybersecurity leading practices.

  • Lead and prioritize the delivery of multiple concurrent projects and initiatives and ensure ownership of tasks through completion.

  • Coach and mentor a diverse team of direct reports in their career progression.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • BA/BS degree in related discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity) with 8 years of experience in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity).

  • 3 years of People Management / Leadership experience.

  • Experience leading Cybersecurity teams responsible for IT Audit and/or Risk Management.

  • Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Power Apps.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with teams throughout the organization. Additionally, well developed problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements are also required.

Preferred

  • MS degree + 6 years of experience preferred in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity); OR Ph.D. + 3 years of experience in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity).

  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CISM, CRISC, etc.

  • Experience in Telecommunications/Cable industry desired.

  • Consulting experience.
