Responsibilities

State Farm's Enterprise Data Enablement Department is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work on our Data Integration and Virtualization team. This is an opportunity to contribute to our efforts to support, modernize and expand the capabilities of our data platform. This team is currently focused on scaling up our platform to meet enterprise demands, while adding additional capabilities with a strong focus on enabling customer self-service and automation. This is an opportunity to display and grow your full-stack development skills on a modern cloud-based data platform.


Qualifications

  • Must have 5+ Years experience working as a Software, Infrastructure, Data Engineer, or similar discipline building enterprise grade solutions.
  • Experience in AWS with a background in Python development on cloud platforms. Certifications are highly desirable.
  • Proficient with Terraform and IaC (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Knowledge and experience developing software solutions leveraging multiple languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, Nodejs, etc.)
  • Experience implementing Data Virtualization tooling (Starburst) in a large enterprise is highly desirable.
  • Proficient with managing production CICD pipelines, GIT, DevOps, Scalr, etc is highly desired.
  • Proficient with containerization products like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity and use of test automation tooling to enable continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
  • Ability and willingness to constantly learn new technology and quickly and share their knowledge with the team.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be comfortable presenting to large groups.
  • Must be a thought leader and active participant in team discussions and design sessions.
