Purpose:

The Senior Director, Data and Analytics, partners with other leaders to manage the data and analytics portfolio for a business unit, therapeutic area, or specific dataflow portions. This role provides scientific, technical, and operational leadership from early clinical development to post-launch activities. Responsibilities include ensuring efficient data delivery, staff recruitment and development, and cross-functional leadership. The role requires comprehensive clinical data flow knowledge and proficiency with emerging technologies for seamless data integration and analysis.

Primary Responsibilities: The job tasks listed below outline the scope of this role:

End to End Dataflow Transformation Capabilities

  • Use deep technical understanding of data collection and reporting methods and processes to enable speedy delivery of reliable data and analytics for decision making.
  • Transform end to end dataflow to develop next-generation capabilities and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Implement and complete data & analytics strategy (process, technology needs, quality standards, automation, external collaborations)
  • Initiate and drive data and analytics programs/algorithms critical to productivity with high quality.

Enterprise Leadership

  • Within functional and cross-functional teams, exhibit strong technical know-how, business acumen, strong problem-solving skills, and agility to adjust to changing business priorities and needs.
  • Represent the Data & Analytics organization at appropriate internal and external venues to demonstrate the leadership.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements, particularly those related to the US, EU, Japan, and China, and be connected externally to be considered an external thought leader.
  • Accountable for fiscal responsibility of clinical data and analytics plans and contracts.
  • Ensure that activities are performed according to established guidelines, standard processes, and in compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Drive shared learning and process expertise between teams within the organization.

People Management and Development

  • Provide technical leadership in developing future data and analytics leaders.
  • Provide leadership in recruiting, coaching and mentoring LCCI talent and integrating them into global teams.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a scientific and operationally capable workforce skilled and knowledgeable in Data & Analytics
  • Effectively create and manage an agile organization that continuously meets the needs of a changing portfolio.
  • Build an organizational culture that fosters inclusion and innovation.
  • Develop staff who demonstrate expertise in drug development, therapeutic area science, project management and cross-functional leadership.
  • Develop an organizational talent base that demonstrates judgment-based decision making and provide leadership in clinical delivery.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • MS in Science or MBA
  • 10 years of experience in Clinical Research
  • 3 years of hands-on experiences in either Clinical Data Management or Clinical Data Analytics
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in Data Management, Data Analytics or related fields

Other Information/Additional Preferences:

  • Experience in, and/or leading different groups in drug development is helpful.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and implement strategies and plans to improve complex drug development processes and capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner/influence cross functionally to deliver results.
  • Experience in leading and providing oversight to third parties for successful delivery of portfolio work.
  • Ability to influence change.
  • Clear vision for data process transformation and automation.
  • Ability to unify and inspire people to achieve value-focused business objectives.
  • Domestic and international travel required (5-10% per year), required.
  • This is Indianapolis, IN based role.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$151,500 - $222,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
