Cox Enterprises is hiring for a Senior IT Advisory & Assurance Analyst who will assist in the execution of the department’s plan, budget, objectives, and goals by performing technology-focused advisory and assurance projects in accordance with the annual audit plan and risk strategy, driving the overall execution of projects from planning through final report delivery; and collaborating with team members and stakeholders to set responsibilities and manage workloads among multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Identify risks and continuous improvement opportunities within the technology space to support business units and processes; formulate tactical solutions to business issues; and understand the relationships between mitigating risk, improving performance, and balancing the cost/benefit of suggested solutions and changes.

  • Act as a business partner and technology SME across the Cox family of businesses; demonstrate knowledge of technology standards and best practices; engage in end-to-end process analysis and improvement; and stay abreast of current business and industry developments and new standards relevant to Cox.

  • Develop high-quality, value-added deliverables; organize information concisely and coherently using appropriate tools, templates, and methodologies; work in collaborative, dynamic teams of high performers; and present results to key stakeholders, including executive leadership.

  • Contribute to the evolution of the department’s supporting infrastructure by evaluating alternative courses of action, recommending adjustments and improvements, and participating in the department’s ongoing transformation into a continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years of experience performing/leading technology-focused advisory/assurance projects, demonstrating creative, out-of-box thinking and solid project management principles to drive projects to completion. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience;

  • 4 years of experience of IT experience with roles of increasing responsibility; industry or consulting experience preferred

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CIPP/CIPT, Six Sigma, PMP, etc.) advantageous

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of information technology, security, and privacy controls (logical access, physical access, change management, security operations, and system development lifecycle).

  • Understanding of common industry standards (ISO 27001/27002, COBIT, GAPP, CCPA/GDPR, etc.).

  • Understanding of cybersecurity protocols and networking, operating system fundamentals (Windows, UNIX, IBMi (AS400), etc.), ERP fundamentals (Oracle, SAP, etc.)

BUSINESS/LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of business risks, process improvement methodologies/tools, audit/assurance techniques/programs, creative problem-solving skills, structuring findings/recommendations, defining project objectives, structuring work plans, and conducting fact-based analysis to develop and test hypotheses.

  • Working knowledge and experience detecting and solving complex problems, conducting root cause analysis, and applying systemic thinking to thoroughly synthesize information from different sources.

  • Proven ability to work productively with people of diverse functional expertise and backgrounds; building and maintaining excellent working relationships; leading by example in embracing change, resolving conflicts, fostering positive team dynamics, and displaying team orientation and personal integrity.

  • Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills demonstrating consistent attention to detail; solid organization and workflow skills.

  • Proficiency with data analysis and process mapping applications; Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint).

  • Results-oriented and self-motivated, with demonstrated experience quickly assimilating new knowledge and remaining current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.

  • Thriving on new challenges; Demonstrated experience with the following: working with little supervision; managing ambiguity and autonomy; flexibility to work in an unstructured environment; dealing effectively with uncertainty and change.
