The Opportunity

This position works out of our location in Wiesbaden (Abbott GmbH) in the Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) division that is focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.

The role will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing information systems and processes to support business objectives and improve data management efficiency by gathering critical business requirements and driving IT initiatives supporting the information management discipline within ADC’s EMEA Commercial operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborating closely with business units to gain an in-depth understanding of the customer's business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the business operates.
  • Analyzing, designing, and implementing information systems and processes to enhance data management and support business objectives.
  • Reviewing business processes to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks while also identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Defining and articulating business needs by applying combined knowledge in IT and on business strategy.
  • Utilizing established methodologies to understand interrelated systems and processes.
  • Contributing to client training programs by aiding in their design and execution.
  • Leading small to mid-size projects, assisting other project managers on larger, more complex projects related to operational business functions.
  • Mentoring junior analysts, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring the alignment of information management strategies with business goals.
  • Overseeing project timelines, managing stakeholder communications, and ensuring the successful implementation of information systems and processes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or equivalent business experience. Experience in Healthcare industry a plus. MBA degree is desirable.
  • 8-10 years of IT or business experience in large or midsized corporation, preferably within the Healthcare industry.
  • Broad IT or business expertise in various disciplines like application development or cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise in requirement gathering and documentation techniques including user stories and process flows.
  • Fluent in English, any additional language is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with at least two of these areas: DWH/Data-lake (SQL Server/S3), Analytics visualization (Power BI), or Middleware (Informatica)
  • Must have experience with data, both relational (SQL) and flat files (CSV/XML/etc.)
  • Internal-customer engagement skills for requirement gathering and expectation management are essential.
  • Prior exposure to Life Sciences or Medical Technology sectors are advantageous.
